Competitive Coach Selection
a) All prospective coaches must submit an application to the General Manager prior to the deadline established for that season.
b) The Rep Coach Coordinator and selection committee will review applications and will contact candidates that have been selected for an interview.
c) Candidates should be aware that, if they are the only candidates for a specific team, this does not guarantee them the position.
d) The coach selection committee shall include the Rep Coach Coordinator and at least three other members chosen by the Rep Coach Coordinator and approved by the VP Competitive Programs.
e) No coaching applicant maybe part of the selection committee for applicants for the age level at which their child is trying out.
f) The coach selection committee will establish the selection framework.
g) Recommendations from the coach selection committee will be presented to the President and VP Competitive Programs for final approval.
Competitive Coach Application
Applications will be accpeted in accordance with the KMHA call out process.
Interview dates will be scheduled after the application deadline
Candidates will be contacted by the selection committee with interview times.
Candidates should bring yearly plans and proposed budgets to their interview for submission to the selection committee.
Coaching positions will be offered conditionally on successful vulnerable level 3 police records check and reference checks being carried out.
Please note, potential coaches are encouraged to include the following with thier application.
1. Additional details on your hockey experience or resume.
2. A representative mid-season practice plan (appropriate for the level you are applying to coach)
Please Note: This application is not for coaching positions in the AAA league. Application process for AAA teams will be conducted by the AAA Zone2 Selection Committee.
