Skills Competition First Event – 10 Puck Shootout Teams are positioned behind the blue line. In front of them, placed on the blue line are 10 pucks. A minimum of 6 players are asked to participate in this event. On the whistle, a player from each team takes a puck, approaches the net and takes a shot. If a goal is scored, the next player in line takes the next puck on the blue line and attempts to shoot on net. The player trying to shoot can only go once the previous player has returned in the line-up. If the player does not score, he/she will quickly gather the rebound puck and bring it back to the blue line. The puck will be placed next in line for another player to shoot. All players can continue to try scoring until all 10 pucks are in the net or time runs out. The team to put all 10 pucks in the net first will be awarded the winner. If teams do not get 10 pucks in the net before the activity time allocated goes off, the total number of pucks to cross the net when the time runs out will be recorded. The team with the most pucks in the nets will be determined as the winner. If teams are tied, 3x additional pucks will be allocated to continue the shootout until a winner is crowned. Each team will select 3 players for this round. Diving across the blue line will not be permitted. -Respect to the goalie will be given, no attempting the jostle a loose puck that has been saved shall occur. Second Event – Team Relay Teams of 4 players are lined up against the boards. The first player on each team will start at the blue line and make one complete lap around the ice. A baton will be handed off to the next player to skate. Once a skater has completed their lap, they must sit down against the boards. -When handing off the baton, the skater receiving the baton should be in a stationary position (no running starts) -DIVING ACROSS THE FINISH LINE IS NOT PERMITTED, will result in disqualification. The first team to have all their players cross the blue line will be deemed the winner.
