Masking Protocols- August 24, 2021

Masking/Physical Distancing Guidelines:       

General:

  • This policy is enacted for purpose of maintaining the safest possible conditions for all participants (players, coaches, officials, spectators, etc.) in all KMHA events. Keep in mind, one infected person in a team, could create a domino effect on multiple other teams.
  • The following guidelines will be in effect REGARDLESS of a person’s vaccination status.

Players:

  • Must be worn at all times entering and exiting the facilities.
  • Masks must be worn in dressing rooms all times, no exceptions.
  • Masks can only be removed when helmets are put on to go on the ice. No earlier than 5 minutes prior to scheduled start time.
  • All players must return to wearing mask immediately after removing helmets post game/practice.
  • Must maintain 2 metre physical distancing when possible

Coaches/Trainers:

  • Must be worn at all times entering and exiting facilities.
  • Must be worn at all times in the dressing room and on the bench. NO removing of the mask to argue with a referee or to converse with a player.
  • Must be worn at all times on the ice during practices, regardless if facility rules allow for removal.

Scorekeepers/Timekeepers/Sort out & Tryout Volunteers:

  • Must be worn at all times entering and exiting facilities.
  • Must be worn at all times during the execution of their duties. May be lowered to eat or drink, but must be replaced immediately afterwards.

Referees:

  • Must be worn at all times entering and exiting facilities.
  • Must be worn in the dressing room and should only be removed prior to departing to dressing room for the ice and replaced immediately upon returning to the dressing room

Spectators:

  • Must be worn at all times entering, within and exiting the facilities

 

Policy to be in effect REGARDLESS of a persons’ vaccination status. 

Policy will be reviewed as provincial and federal guidelines are changed and or updated.  However, this does not mean the policy will be amended.
