Hello, and welcome to the U18 KMHA season!

My name is Chantal Plunkett and I will be your U18 convenor for the 2023/24 season. I will be collaborating with Scott McGruer who will help support the sort out and season activities. Scott has volunteered with hockey associations as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach for a few years and he is now looking to get involved with the administrative side of KMHA.

Should you have any questions or concerns throughout the season, we can be reached using U18convenor@kmha.ca. We look forward to contributing to a successful season for all of our players, goalies, team staff and families!

Season Overview

VOLUNTEERS – Sort Outs and Team Staff

We are currently looking for volunteers both for the sort out process and for Team Official positions. To volunteer please complete the following form. https://forms.gle/oJXhKAEsvM47uPj59

Please do not email us directly to notify us of your interest. The form helps us keep the information in one place and ensures we don’t miss you. Knowing your intentions ahead of time helps us balance teams with both players and team staff to ensure everyone is well supported for the season.

If you have volunteered via the above form, you will receive separate communications from us shortly with more details on needs and assignments. We also wish to thank you in advance for your help and support this season!

EQUIPMENT

If you are not familiar with equipment requirements for Hockey, please view more details here: https://kmha.ca/risk-and-safety/equipment-information/

SORT OUTS

You have been sent your Player ID number via email. Using this number, you will be able to identify your sort out ice times. These will be posted on the KMHA website https://kmha.ca/midget-sort-outs/

Your player will be assigned 2 ice times per week for 2 weeks. The ice times for the second week will be available by the end of the weekend of the first week. Following the second week of sort outs, the final communication will come from your new Head Coach! This person will provide all of the information you require for a successful start to your season.

SEASON INFORMATION

At this time, U18 is slated to have 12 teams with teams at the A and B levels only. Please note that U18 does not have scheduled practices. Two games per week will be scheduled. The large majority of ice times at this division are during the week in the evenings.

SCHEDULE- Season

Throughout the season, you can find your team’s assigned schedule on this website: http://dncscheduling.com/HockeySchedule/kmha/webScheduleSearch

Simply complete the search criterias for results. Note that schedules can be subject to changes so be sure to check closer to the date before heading out to the rink!

Teams will also be provided access to a Team Snap account where team staff can maintain a schedule, attendance and efficient team communications.
